Formation skydiving is the art of building formations in free-fall with skydivers who take grips on each other to form various formations.

Formation skydiving competitions have included the following:

4-way sequential
8-way sequential
16-way sequential
10-way speed
Large formations (Big-ways)

The current FAI world record for largest free-fall formation is a 400-way

The current FAI world record for the maximum points scored in 4 way FS competition was 42
